LiveBook GFX™ UI/UX Designer named StudioDaily’s Top 50 Creative Minds in Technology at NAB 2016

Yanier Figueras Award

April 19, 2016 – B&H Booth at NAB 2016

The StudioDaily 50, announced at NAB 2016, is populated by executives and producers who make great work happen; directors, cinematographers and editors who push the creative envelope; and scientists, engineers, inventors and other innovators who keep pushing the state of the creative arts.

The list has been broken down into broad categories for easier browsing. But, as usual with this crowd, most of them spend their professional lives crossing boundaries on a daily basis.

Yanier Figueras
UI-UX Designer/Senior Graphic Artist | AJT Systems

Yanier Figueras leverages his skills as a graphic designer and animator to create unique graphic templates for sports programming that can be used by customers of AJT Systems’ Livebook GFX and SportApps scorebug playout software. The templates are meant as examples to showcase AJT’s products, but some clients take them to air rather than creating customized templates, easing their workload — and testifying to the quality of the graphic elements Figueras provides for basketball, football and soccer coverage. In 2016, Figueras will develop scorebug templates for new SportsApps, such as hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball and curling. He also designs user interfaces for scorebug operators and works with developers to keep expanding the feature set of LiveBook GFX.

What will be the biggest challenge of 2016 for the media industry?

Today’s viewer has access to millions of hours of content created and published by Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, Roku, and many others. Anyone can be entertained for hours, at their own pace, without the service of traditional content providers. I strongly believe the format in which the content is presented by providers has to adapt to each viewer’s unique interests.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

If my family is busy, you’ll find me flying drones, racing remote-controlled cars and, lately, a bit of social karting (go-karts).

The Blacklist is my number-one show, but I equally enjoyed the movies The Martian, Interstellar and Gravity.
